Hey Hannah...
From your response I've noticed a couple of things.
1) You miss understand what Christianity truely is
2) How forgiveness of sins really works.

Point 1:
<strong>What hell isn't</strong>
Hell isn't some burning pit of sulphuric acid where you get tortured all the time.. Hell is the absence of God.
All the good things in this world, love, friendship, joy etc, all these things are a gift from God.. Hell is where all these things are not.. It is a terribly lonely place.
That being said, the way you get to hell is to reject Christ as your Lord and King and live this life how ever you see fit.
God acknowledges your decision, and allows you to go to hell.(He gives you a choice on this earth to make).

Once in hell, you CAN NOT repent.. It is beyond your capabilities.. Repentance is a gift from God, in hell the word repentance doesn't exist..So sure if you could repent God might just forgive you.. But he gave you an entire life on earth to repent, you made your call... See, God is a holy and just God who should just wipe out the entire human race (because we have all sinned, and all fall short of the Glory of God)

But instead of being cruel (but just) he has come up with an alternative.. He sends his OWN son, to die for your sins.. But Jesus, says that if you want eternal life, you have to deny yourself, pick up your cross and follow him..

Point 2
"<strong>Christians don't go to heaven</strong>"
A lot of people like to pretend to be christian just so that can get to heaven, problem is.. It doesn't work like that.. When Jesus rode in on Palm friday, people worshiped him, but he didn't accept because he knew that they were just worshiping for his miracles and not because of what he is going to do..
Self-righteous and vicious christians will NOT goto heaven.. They are just people pretending to be, without living it out. .Jesus says they will come to the door, but God will say "I do not know you" - Warning indeed

Point 3:
<strong>Humble and kind person from another religion </strong>
If this humble and kind person from another religion commits just 1 sin, he falls short of the glory of God (just one!) God is so holy that he can not look at sin.. So as soon as we are born (and we are born sinful) God can no longer accept us into heaven as we are.. We must first be cleansed..
So it doesn't matter which religion you follow, you are sinful, and only Jesus can take the wrath of that sin come judgement day.. But Jesus will only take the wrath if you follow Him.

"A truly loving God would punish a sin finitely"
If this was true.. we would be killed the moment we are born.. All sin is equal, all is wrong in Gods eyes and he can't stand it.. You have your chance in this life.. God is already giving you a second chance now.. No reason why he should give you a third!

"I want to feel God is worth following, and I don’t feel that"
Tell me, how can a God who sent his only son (HIS SON) to die in your place not be worth following?
This is the greatest thing anyone can do for you, and you say it isn't worth following?? I think you misunderstand how great and self-sacrificing feat that really was before you say something like that again...

God will only feel eluding and arbitrary if you don't have a relationship with him.. If you do, and you spend time with him everyday, he becomes the most real thing in this world.
"To live is Christ, but to die is gain"

But that doesn't solve the problem that a) if someone repents IN hell they're still stuck there forever; that most Christians are self-righteous and vicious yet they'll get into heaven, but a humble and kind person from another religion or no religion will go to hell; and that Jesus dying still has no logical bearing on what we do. so you've sinned. Well, that's OK, I'll send someone else to pay for it! If a human judge tried that, he'd be stripped of his role, and rightly so. THere is no FAIRNESS.
A truly loving God would punish a sin finitely and still give the opportunity to repent after death, like in a purgatory setting.
Personally I do not want BMWs and holidays. I want to feel God is worth following, and I don't feel that. He doesn't feel loving, more exluding and arbitrary.
